Last year I posted this post about making a tree skirt for an artificial Christmas tree. I thought some of you might like to see it again. The only thing you have to remember is to put the skirt on the stand before (!) you put the tree into it. That way you only need a small hole in the center of the skirt. Should you want to make a tree skirt for a live tree you will have to cut the skirt so that you can wrap it around the tree. Blessings! Karen Hanim

Bugün ilk defa dikiş hakkında bir yazı yazıyorum. Dikiş makinem köşede kaldı ama bu ay açmak zorunda kaldım ve dikiş dikmek ne kadar sevdiğimi hatırladım!

Yıl Başı ağaçlar Türkiyede genellikle suni veya yapma ağaçlardır. Onun için altına süslemek için bir şey lazım. Bu fotoğrafdaki ağaç eteği el işi ve eşimin büyük teyzesinden geldi. Bu kadar sene sonra çok iyi duruyor. Keçeden yapıldı.

Arkadaşımın ağaç eteği yok diye ona bir tane dikmeye karar verdim. Kumaşcıya gidince bu güzel kumaş buldum. Aslında yapılışı kolay oldu.



Bir tane kare şeklinde bir kumaş parçayı satın aldım. Kumaşcıdan yuvarlak bir parça kesmesini istedim ve hiç kaygılanmadan güzel bir yuvarlak parçayı kesti. İyiki sormayı aklıma geldi. Bunu işimi çok kolaylaştı.

Eve gelince yuvarlağın parçasına bir baskı yaptım.

Sonra iğneler koymadan bir kordon üzerine zigzag dikiş ile diktim.


Bunu bitirdikten sonra dörde katladım.

Uçtan bir parça kestim.

Biraz yuvarlatarak kesmek lazım.
Bir delik açılıyor ve burada baskı yaptım.
Sonra bunun üzerine bir kordon diktim.
Bu kadar basit! Tabii bunu kullanmak için ağacınızı monte etmeden yerleşmek lazım!!

Hi Friends,

I have gotten my sewing machine out this month to do several projects and it totally reminded me of how much I used to love sewing! I got the idea to make a Christmas Tree skirt for a friend and it was so easy I just had to share it on my blog.

Here are the directions:
Buy a square piece of fabric. Have the associate at the store cut it into a large circle.
Make a hem around the outside edge.
Using a zigzag stitch, stitch cord over the hem on the edge of the skirt. I didn't even need to pin this. It was so easy.
Fold the skirt into fourths.
Cut the tip off in a rounded fashion. This creates a circle in the middle of your skirt.
Hem the circle.
Apply cord around the circle with a zigzag stitch.

That is all it takes! Of course this kind of tree skirt needs to be put on the tree when you are setting the tree up! Don't forget as it will be impossible to get the tree into the tree skirt hole later.

The tree skirt that is on my own tree (picture at the top of my post) was made for our family by my husband's great aunt. It is at least 30 years old and still looks like new. She made it out of felt and hand stitched the decorations. It must have taken her ages and was truly a gift of love!!
