Bu hafta ben Iznik'teydim. Bir günlük tura katıldım ve Türkyenin güzel ve tahrisel yerlerden bir tanesi daha görebildim.
İznik cini harika bir şey! Ben bu eski İznik cinilerinin yapılışının sırı ortadan kaybolduğunu diye biliyordum meğer yeniden keşfedildi! İznik Vakıf Çinileri ve bir kaç üniversitelerle beraber güzel eski İznik cinilerinin yapılışını tekrar sağladılar.

Bu eski İznik cinilerinin yapılışını tekrar keşfedildiğine Türkyenin adına sevindim.
Aynı zamanda gezide beni üzen bir şey oldu. Otobusdeki konuşmalardan kulak misafir oldum ve İzik Konsey hakkında bahsediyorlardi. Malesef İnik Konseyinde ne olduğunu Türkiyede tamamen yanlış öğretiliyor. Kısaca gerçek olay bu:
M.S. 325 yılında Konstantin bütün Mesih İnanlıları topluluklarını temsil eden bir genel konsey toplattı. Konstantin'in amacı, Mesih İnanlıları topluluklarında mümkün olduğu kadar geniş ölçüde bir doktrin birliği sağlamaktı. İznik konseyini tarihte çok önemli bir olay haline getiren iki husus vardı: konsey temsilcilerinin dünyanın her yerinden gelmesi ve kilisenin (Mesih İnanlıları topluluğunun) devlet ile olan yeni ilişkisi.
Önemle belirtilmeli ki, M.S. yılında toplanan İznik Konseyi, hangi kutsal yazıların kabul edileceğini, hangilerinin de atılacağını kararlaştırmak için toplanmadı!
Konseye katılanların büyük bir yığın İncil'den dört tane sahte İncil seçen vicdansız papazlar oldukları hikayesi, ortaçağda türetilen bir yalandır.
Biz bugünlerde bir hikayesinin kaynağı nerede olduğunu iyi bilmeliyiz. İnternet'te o kadar sahte ve yanlış bilgi veriliyor ki! 'Bir yerde okudum' diye artık yeterli bir kaynak değil. Dikkat etmezsek biz büyük hattalara düşmüş olabiliriz.

İznik Vakıf Çinilerinden bir Örnek A new tile from the İzik FoundationHi Friends,
Yesterday I went on a 'Day Tour' to the Turkish town of İznik. İznik was famous for the incredible tiles that they produced in the 1500's . When the Ottoman declined the pottery indstry in İznik declined as well and to method to make their fantastic tiles was lost.

As part of the İznik tour we were taken to the İznik Foundation. The foundation's purpose is to conduct scientific research into how these tiles were manufactured in order to revive the tradition. These tiles are now being reproduced at the İznik Foundation in İznik and we were priviledged to be able to walk through their factory and see the beautiful work that they are doing. You can see from the photos here that the tiles have wonderful color and a fantastic sheen to them. This comes from the use of quartz in the process of both making the tiles as well as glazing them.

İznikteki Aya Sofya Kilisesi
As well as being the place for famous tiles İznik was also the place that the Nicene Creed was written in AD 325. This church of Saint Sophia stands as a shell in the center of İznik. Although the church was not there in 325 AD it stands as a testament to this declaration of faith.
You may not know what the 'Nicene Creed' is but you might have heard it or even say it each week in your Sunday service. One version goes like this.
- I believe in one God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
- And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages;
- Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made.
- Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of the Father.
- And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; of His kingdom there shall be no end.
- And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceedeth from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spake by the prophets.
- In one Holy and Apostolic Church;
- I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins;
- I look for the resurrection of the dead
- and the life of the age to come. Amen.
